COVID HAIR

HELP!!! “I have so much hair on my bathroom floor!"......Says every woman I’ve talked to in recent months. Covid-19 forever changed our lives in 2020. The impact and the stress of this virus has wreaked havoc on our bodies. It has caused anxiety, depression, and many other mental health challenges. When the body experiences trauma or stress, it can take 6 to 8 months to come out through our hair and skin, in most cases. In September, I noticed more shedding in my clientele. Our routines and healthy habits were replaced with decreased water intake, less exercise, and unhealthy eating. All of these things can contribute to hair loss. What can we do? It’s a new year, and it’s time to create a new normal for yourself as it pertains to maintaining healthy hair.

Here are a few tips we suggest:

1. Self Care: Meditate, pray, and do yoga or breathing techniques. At least 3 times a month, try a super hydrating conditioning mask and wrap a hot towel around your hair. Take a hot bath, have a glass of wine while your mask is processing.

2. Increase your vitamins: Along with your multi-vitamins, increase the milligrams of your biotin based vitamin. Set your vitamins in a place where you will not forget to take them. Consistency is the key to a successful vitamin regimen.

3. Eliminate Heat: Be creative and try styles that do not require heat tools. Or only use one. If you blow dry your hair, don’t use a flat iron. Or vice versa.

4. Trim: 8 to 10 weeks is a great schedule. Just dust your ends to encourage growth and keep your ends fresh.

5. OH2 Hair Growth Serum: Along with your oral vitamin regime, this topical hair vitamin can and should be used at least 3 times a week. Use once a week after you shampoo and condition, massage in and style as usual. Use a few drops in your style product like edge gels, and styling gels. If your edges are thin, massage a few drops every other day.

Peace, Love and Healthy Hair!
